Apostle JL Simpson​ is a dynamic teacher, author, and motivational speaker who has been pastoring for over two decades. A native of Norfolk, VA, his transparent testimony has been featured nationally on The 700 Club.

Coming from a place of losing everything—including a church, a marriage, and material possessions—Apostle JL never lost hope or faith in God. Graced by God to overcome a life of turmoil, his past includes challenges such as prison, street life, and more. Today, Apostle JL uses these experiences to mentor, inspire, and uplift others. 

He believes his divine assignment is to teach the Word and love people.

In 2019, Apostle JL founded Relevant Church, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. The ministry has since expanded into Relevant Nation: one church with multiple locations, connecting the Bible with real life.

Apostle JL is also the creator of The Husbands Bootcamp, The Wives Bootcamp, Business Bootcamp, and The Singles Bootcamp. Gifted in teaching about relationships, he has authored several books, available on Amazon, including Simply Single: The Qualifying Factor, Kingdom Confessions: What You Say Matters, The Good Work of Marriage, Faith That Really Works, and 21 Days of Purpose, Faith, and Prosperity. He also has several additional manuscripts in production.

Apostle JL is married to Pastor Ginger Simpson. Together, they have seven children and reside in Virginia Beach, VA.
